The Importance of Rabbit Grooming

Even though it's very rarely heard of, bunny grooming is a very important part of your rabbit's health and wellbeing.

Rabbits are prone to skin problems such as urinary burns when there is a build up or urine/feces in your rabbit's fur. Fly strike which is a potentially life-threatening condition that develops when maggots hatch on a rabbit and burrow under their skin. As rabbits have extremely thin skin, any matting build up may have sores underneath, if it is incorrectly cut out it can cause cuts, any matting etc should be removed by a professional.

Your bunnies nails may need to be cut on a regular basis too as they continuously grow just like their teeth so if they aren't kept short they may begin to cause pain and discomfort in their joints and feet when hopping around.
